Economics and Public Management Chair was established within the Academy of Public Administration in 1994. The first head of the Chair was Gorobievschi Svetlana, PhD of Economics, associate professor. Later the Chair was led by Svetlana Cojocaru, PhD of Economics, associate professor. Currently head of the chair is Tatiana Tofan, PhD of Economics, associate professor.
Mission
Economics and Public Management Chair is a basic didactic and scientific structural subdivision of the Academy of Public Administration, which ensures the implementation of organizational, educational, methodological, and scientific activities in the field of economics and public management.
The Chair aims to train gifted and intelligent specialists, with vast knowledge in the field of economics and management and skills in solving the most complex economic, social, managerial problems, offering opportunities for the accumulation of a necessary amount of economic knowledge and management for effective participation in the public administration process.
Organizational and functional activities of the Chair are conducted in accordance with the priorities of the Master Higher Education Department and of the Academy regarding research and professional master studies, in the manner and conditions established by Moldovan legislation, the Statute of the Academy and the Regulation of the Chair, respective instructions and decisions of the Senate, Rector and Director of the Higher Education of Master Department. In order to ensure an efficient activity, the Chair collaborates with central and local public administration bodies, with other didactic and research subdivisions of the Academy and of other institutions in the country and abroad. The Chair is autonomous in organizing educational and scientific processes, except those reserved to the competency of the Academy.
Objectives
Organizational objectives:
- Develop the Chair's curricula and approve the individual plans of the faculty.
- Update the syllabi for general and specialized courses.
- Ensure the educational process with highly qualified professional staff.
- Ensure the didactic process with technical means of education, audiovisual materials and special literature.
- Organize the internships: select organizations and basic institutions, sign contracts with their managers, selection of internship managers.
- Guide and coordinate the activity of master students.
Instructive and didactic objectives:
- Plan and organize the educational process.
- Develop basic and specialized courses according to the needs and specifics of master students.
- Adjust curricula and courses to the reality of the administration regulations system.
- Develop methodical-didactic materials; lectures, textbooks, methodical recommendations and their preparation for publication.
- Prepare new applicative theoretical courses for general and specialized disciplines on the demand of masters' students.
- Develop scientific topics for investigation for master theses, advise master students individual research.
- Evaluate didactic and methodic activities.
Scientific objectives
- Conduct scientific research (independently or jointly with other subdivisions of the Academy) on topics included in the thematic plan of scientific investigations of the Academy.
- Participate (at the request of Parliament or the Government) in developing normative acts, concepts, programs, and other important documents;
- Participate with communications in the activities of scientific conferences; colloquia, symposia and other scientific forums and promote them in specialized journals and republican media;
- Evaluate the scientific activity.
